Why group keyboard and piano lessons are so good
All of my lessons are group based: keyboard and piano classes at Kwest are one hour long and contain between 3 and 6 students. My preferred method of teaching is to start a group of beginners all at the same time, and teach them as a group as much as possible. Some of my current classes however do contain students at different levels, this is generally due to a family’s schedule making it difficult for them to attend at their level time- or people wanting to attend lessons with friends/ family. These classes do most of there work on headphones, however they do come together often for activities, quizzes or ensemble playing that everyone can participate in, so in a way, these students get the best of both worlds! Here’s my top four reasons for thinking that the group lesson format is the perfect way to learn keyboard or piano: Read more »
Exam Information
Heres a note for everyone at Kwest currently preparing for an exam:
I am currently arranging the next LCM exam session, which will take place in January 2007. Therefore, I will need all exam fees by 29th November at the very latest, as the date cannot be booked until the fees reach LCM (and this must be at least 6 weeks before the exam). Here’s a list of the fees:Keyboard Step One: £20
Keyboard Step Two: £21
Grade One (keyboard or piano): £25
Grade Two (keyboard or piano): £30
Grade Three (keyboard or piano): £33
Please pay by cash or cheque (payable to Kwest Studios) so I can send one check to the examiners. The sooner all fees are in, the sooner we can arrange the date!
The proposed day is likely to be in school time, between the 15th- 27th January, so if you are going to be away at this time for any reason then please let me know as soon as possible. Please be aware that LCM give no refunds under any circumstances once the exam fee has been paid (although in the case of illness on the day, you are eligible for a half price re-booking with a doctors certificate).
Please ask if you have any further questions about the exams- and good luck!
